I would like to make a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act. Please could you provide the details of every UDA contract in England and Wales for the financial years

• a) 2015-16,
• b) 2016-17,
• c) 2017-18,
• d) 2018-19 and
• e) 2019-20.

Please include:

Data for English contracts

I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds the information you have requested and a copy of the information and notes explaining it is attached. 

Please read the below notes to ensure correct understanding of the data. 

In the data provided to you for FOI-02027, we have identified an error in which some of the information was missing, for which we apologise. The following columns had not been provided in the data:

• Column c) The principal practice and correspondence address and postcode  
• Column k) The number of UDAs handed back   
• Column l) The number of UOAs handed back  
• Column m) The value of UDAs handed back  
• Column n) The value of UOAs handed back 

We have therefore provided updated data for the financial years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 as well as the data for 2024-25.

We have provided current address for dental practices, therefore the address has only been included in the most recent dataset (Financial year 2024-2025).

Activity data refers to FP17s and FP17Ws attributed to the respective financial years. For example, 2024-2025 refers to FP17s and FP17Ws scheduled between April 2024 and June 2025, where the date of completion is between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025. 

The reports contains the details from FP17s processed for the stated financial year in England.

• The name or company name of the practice - column B - ‘Provider Name’
• The principal practice and correspondence address and postcode - columns C to H (2024-2025 financial year only)
• The commissioner name - ‘ICB Name’
• The total contracted UDA activity - ‘UDA Contracted Target’
• The total contracted UOA activity - ‘UOA Contracted Target’
• The total contracted UDA value - can be calculated by multiplying UDA Contracted Target and UDA Rate
• The total contracted UOA value - can be calculated by multiplying columns UDOA Contracted Target and UOA Rate
• The total undelivered UDAs - can be calculated by subtracting UDA Adjusted Delivered from UDA Contracted Target
• The total undelivered UOAs - can be calculated by subtracting UOA Adjusted Delivered from UOA Contracted Target

Data for Welsh Contracts

I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds some of the information you have requested.

The NHSBSA does not hold information on the number of UDAs and UOAs handed back or decommissioned in Wales. This would be held by the Local Health Board (LHB). 

Financial years 2021-22 to 2023-24

The data for the financial years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 were provided in response to FOI-02027.

Under Section 21 of the FOIA we are not required to provide information in response to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you.

Financial year 2024-25

A copy of the requested information and notes explaining it is attached. 

The report contains the details from FP17Ws processed for the period stated 2024-2025 in Wales. 

Please note the following: 

1. If there is only one treatment location recorded in CoMPASS, then this will be assigned as the PP&C address.  
2. If at the 30th of the month there is only one live treatment location, then this will be assigned as the PP&C address.  
3. If there are multiple open treatment locations for the contract, the treatment location with the earliest submission of FP17W/O activity will be used.  
4. If there are no open treatment locations at the 30th of the month, the historic principal practice address from POL will be used.  
5. If there are no open treatment locations at the 30th of the month, the address with the most FP17W/O activity will be used.  
6. If there are no open treatment locations but one existed and had associated FP17W/O activity when the contract was live, then this address will be used.  
7. Contracts that have an end date before 01/04/2013 are assigned a <Blank> address.
